Domain Name
network
A domain name is the easy-to-read address you type in a browser to visit a website, like google.com or myshop.net It points to the real location of the server, which is actually a number (an IP address)
How it works
When you type a domain name, your computer asks a special system called DNS (Domain Name System) to translate it into the server’s IP address. Then your browser can connect to that server and load the website. Without domain names, people would have to remember long numbers instead of words.
Analogy
A domain name is like a contact name in your phone. Instead of remembering the actual phone number, you just click on “Mom” or “John.” Your phone looks up the number and calls it. The domain name does the same for websites - simple names instead of complicated numbers.
